Oct. 26, 2026. Gom Jabbar: A Dune Podcast is re-releasing its eight-part Dune Messiah book club, with a new episode every Monday from Oct. 26 through Dec. 14. The final episode arrives four days before Dune: Part Three, the film adaptation of the novel, opens in theaters on Dec. 18.

Hosts Abu Zafar and Leo Wiggins read Dune Messiah about 50 pages at a time, digging into the characters and themes of each section. The first seven episodes are spoiler-free, covering nothing beyond the pages read so far. The eighth answers listener questions before closing with a full-spoiler discussion of where Dune Messiah fits in the larger saga.

Dune Messiah picks up 12 years after Dune, and much of what happened in between is only hinted at on the page. The book club fills in those years, using The Dune Encyclopedia to trace how a revolt by the Great Houses grew into Paul Atreides’ jihad. Each episode also stops for “spice morsels,” short dives into lore the novel mentions only in passing, such as Tleilaxu face dancers, the Dune Tarot and the hidden sanctuary planet Tupile.

Listener questions run throughout the series, including whether Dune is a white savior story and how Paul’s life might have gone if Duke Leto had survived. Zafar calls Dune Messiah one of his favorite books in the series, even though many readers find it the hardest to love, and the book club makes the case for it chapter by chapter.

The series is made for newcomers reading the book for the first time and for longtime Dune fans who want to revisit it before the movie. Book Club: Dune Messiah (pg 1-49) is available now in the Gom Jabbar feed.
